English: HIV’s a virus transmitted through unprotected sex where mucous membranes and body fluids are involved. In Sweden, the current treatment of HIV is so effective that it lowers the virus levels, and the risk of infection to practically zero. People with modern HIV treatment can live a long life and even give birth without transmitting the infection to someone else. Without treatment, HIV sooner or later leads to other diseases. This condition is usually called AIDS.
